John Dramani Mahama, biggest liar in Ghana

The National Democratic Congress’s John Dramani Mahama has claimed that he started the free senior high school policy, but the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has expressed his disbelief in such claims, which makes John Dramani Mahama the biggest liar in Ghana.

While touring a few Upper East constituencies on Tuesday, 24 November 2020, the politician noted that “we started the programme (Free SHS), and the NPP came and continued it.”

On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, President Akufo-Addo spoke to a crowd at Odorkor and said that John Mahama’s statement was “something yesterday which shocked me.”
When he made the promise prior to the 2008, 2012, and 2016 elections, President Akufo-Addo claims that “they (John Mahama and the NDC) said that I was deceiving Ghanaians, that it was a vote-buying gimmick, and that it would take about 20 years for it (Free SHS) to be possible.”
He continued, “Not too long ago, he said that if he had two billion Ghana cedis, he wouldn’t spend it on school fees, but rather on something profitable. He claims that Muhammad introduced Free S.H.S. today. The crowd shouted a resounding “no” in response to the question, “Are we going to allow the former president to return to power through lies and deception?”

The NDC candidate’s “lies,” the President continued, “are borne out of one thing, and that is his campaign’s failure to catch up with the electorate. He has observed how his campaign is disintegrating under confusion, falsehoods, and now flat-out lies.
He appealed to residents of Odorkor in the Ablekuma North constituency to support the New Patriotic Party and give them both a resounding victory in the first round of the presidential election and a commanding majority in parliament.
“I’m hoping that the Ghanaian people will overwhelmingly support the plan outlined in our 2020 manifesto. I am begging you not to let it go in “boom”, however, I want it to go “boom! boom! boom!”, President Akufo-Addo added.
